Among the different reasons, he mentioned that Arabic is also the language of Coptic Egyptians: ‘the Arabic language is not the language of Muslims only, but the language of all who speak it, however much they differ in faith.’19 For Taha Husayn, the Arabic language is at first the classical one and, for him, the masses should be able to understand the classical Arabic.
